Tekla (V2018)’s latest Changes in “Numbering settings”

In Tekla Structures 2018 SP1, there is now a new advanced option XS_ENABLE_PHASE_OPTION_IN_NUMBERING that controls the Phase setting in the Numbering Setup dialog box. This advanced option is model specific and it is available in the Advanced Options dialog box. When XS_ENABLE_PHASE_OPTION_IN_NUMBERING is set to FALSE (which is the default value), the Phase checkbox is disabled in the Numbering Setup dialog box. This means that changing an object’s phase works in the same way as in Tekla Structures 2017i and earlier versions and that changing the phase does not affect numbering or trigger change alerts. If XS_ENABLE_PHASE_OPTION_IN_NUMBERING is set to TRUE, the Phase checkbox is enabled in the Numbering Setup dialog box. This is the recommended setting for Tekla Model Sharing users. The most commonly used method to view all cut and fittings in an elevation/3d view is to utilize “Delete” and “Undo” commands together. The problem with this method is that it distorts the neatly arranged GA sheet presentation, which may well go unnoticed. So here’s a trick that gives you an alternate way of viewing the desired objects: Display detailing: Display detailing is another method to view the objects such as components, welds, fittings, reinforcement, and surfaces in a model that are connected to a part. The majority tend to use the ‘delete & undo’ option to examine, say, whether the parts are welded correctly, or to move/delete cut or fitting. Steps: Select a part Click Display detailing on the contextual toolbar.
